Starting in early 2011, Young Starrs Theater Company has been involved in helping the Ambler Community Cupboard. The Cupboard is located on 150 N. Main Street in Ambler, PA. They strive to provide food and clothing to those less fortunate. Emily McVittie-Phillips organized weekly trips to the cupboard.

Every Wednesday, 2-4 member of Young Starrs go and help package and distribute food the the Cupboards regular clients. Volunteers include; Jess Rimdzius, Katie Hepp, Trevor Thome, Emily McVittie Phillips, Becca Seeley and Molly Hagen.

The officers plan to continue their involvement with the Ambler Community Cupboard far beyond one show.

During performances of Young Starrs Theater Company's production of RENT: School Edition, a fundraiser was held for Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS.

Red AIDS Awareness Bracelets and the signature Red AIDS Ribbons were sold. BCEFA also generously supplied Rent posters and playbills for auction.

Based on Puccini's La Boheme, the rock opera RENT tells the story of a group of friends living in the Lower East Side during the AIDS pandemic.

A big thank you to all of the YSTC audience members who supported this very special organization!
